Okay, not just tournament. Do you ever have periods where everything just seems to fly by, and all the time you're thinking, "I'll just do that tomorrow?" Well, that's been me for the past month. I had all these great posts I was going to make, and... well...
Tomorrow is tournament. We're heading down this evening and staying in a motel nearby so that we can be up very early and get over to help set everything up, and to support one of our people who's going for his Nidan. Then there will be a long day of judging, followed by competing late in the day. Then, we head home and rest, hopefully pleased with how we did.
My husband is fighting off some sort of cold or flu, I have a badly pulled groin muscle, and still remnants of my earlier bout with labyrinthitis, so I think it's safe to say we're not that excited about competing tomorrow. We'd both prefer to be at our best, feeling good and strong, but that's just the way it works out sometimes, yes? He'll probably still do very well, he always rises above. I am not even certain that I'll be able to compete, and if I do, it will be with a tightly taped up thigh (doesn't that sound comfortable?? LOL). I don't hold out many hopes for my most brilliant tournament performance! It's a shame, too; I've been training hard and conditioning for fitness, and was feeling pretty darn good up until that blasted groin pull got re-aggravated and put me out of workouts for a couple of weeks...
However, it's good spirit, and should be a good day despite everything. Lots of people from our dojo will be there, which is good for us. Lots of people from other dojos that we don't see very often will also be there, which is always fun. And at the end of it we come home and rest... and this year, that might be the best part of all!
Hope you've all been doing well, I'll be posting again "soon" (TM)!
